BEWARE MASTRO IMPORTS SUBARU SANFORD, FL!

I enjoy this forum and website very much. I look forward to discussion of the VW Golf TDI 5 door wagon. It is supposed to be delivered locally in November.

At the moment I drive a 09 Subaru Forester. My base model Forester was good "bang for the buck" IF you wanted AWD but the "warm and fuzzies" stop there. After a year I can report that the Subaru boxer engine is very noisy, the crossover has cheap interior, flimsy fits and trims and gets lousy gas mileage (18 city). I am getting rid of it and getting a new VW Golf TDI wagon if I can swing a decent trade out at a year.

Now for the "rest of the story" about Mastro Subaru:

My white “cash for clunker” 2002 dodge van sat in the Mastro Subaru Sanford clunker lot for days after being driven there by the brother of the general manger at Mastro. My salesman was a sales manager. The paper work for the clunker was in the possession of Mastro for weeks (since 8/5/09) and Mastro and I signed a formal new vehicle purchase order contract for a new Subaru on 8/23/09. I insisted it had the general manager’s knowledge and approval (he lives in tampa but approved by phone in my presence). i was assured on 8/23 that the dealership would accept $3500 trade equity on the dodge "clunker" with or without the CARS program rebate. so, i was assured it was a “done deal” if i could raise the 11,000+ cash for the new base 08 Subaru Impreza. i raised the cash in full and was given the keys to the new Subaru and drove it home. I had it for almost 2 days. i was called by sales to return to "get the papers necessary for a new title, pay a small remaining balance with my american express card and get some new car service check-ups, car wash, detail and some nitrogen in the tires". in an absolute shock confrontation out of a "stephen king nightmare", while i was waiting for my service detail to be completed, i was confronted by “joe anglada” who apparently is a finance manager at Mastro. He shoved a document in my face and my bank draft and said the Dodge didn't qualify for “clunkers” because the dates were insufficient. i tried to explain that i had provided those documents with those dates weeks ago and was told “dont worry, everything will be OK, we can do the deal anyway”. i told Anglada that I was assured by general manager John Fruhmorgen and sales manager Eric Fruhmorgen that "it didnt matter" and that "the deal would be done with or without the clunker program rebate" but Anglada said “no, that wouldn't happen". he then, in a bizarre show of anger and scorn toward a customer, proceeded to blame me for the whole misunderstanding and even accused me of "risking the life of the sales manager that drove the broken down car from st. pete!" (BTW, that salesman/manager who signed the contract for the dealership was suspended by the owner Steven Mastro for 2 months - why? i rest my case)

the keys to either vehicle were not returned to me for days. the new Subaru I had a contracted for remained on the lot for days and has yet to be returned. the clunker in another lot remanined for days. the original title of the dodge clunker was lost at the dealership. now the clunker has a flat tire and the dealership refused to return the van back to st. pete and threatened to tow it!. the management or the owners pete and steve mastro refused to answer my emails or return my calls. the clunker remained for days behind a fence in the clunker lot until finally returned after law suits were threatened. remember, THEY drove it there to sanford not me after assuring me and congratulating me on my new Subaru contract! Mastro reneged on a "done deal" and left me stranded! this demonstrates how good a signed contract is with Mastro Subaru. it means nothing! this demonstrates that when the Mastro management says “we got a deal with you one way or another” it means nothing at Mastro.

In summary this is a eyewitness account and expose' of this Subaru - suzuki dealer for abusing customers via the CARS rebate program and by dishonesty and deceptive practices damaged me finacially and emotionally. There is now in orlando and central florida yet another dealer in the mode and style of former “bill heard chevrolet” etc. Mastro will end up the same as that disgraced new car retail enterprise..bankrupted just as their unethical sales practices seem to be. i will find a way to alert others for the Dodge clunker fiasco after Mastro signed a contract with me then proceeded to transport the clunker to Orlando after “guaranteeing” me i was going to drive away a new 2008 Subaru.

Buyers' Beware! Beware Mastro Subaru Suzuki Sanford!

In store they Bike Store
were giving out the incorrect rebate form ($10 off, not $25 like Macy's website said). Macy's website was not
working to print out the $25 rebate form yesterday, and no Bike Trial Seller
one with the 1-800 customer service line will help.
Does Bike Shop ANYONE have the $25 Pandigital rebate form from Macys that they can send me? It was for this past weekend's sales Bike Trials
